On February 1, 2026, a seminar on the revision of the national standard “Special‑Purpose Machine Tools—Terminology—Part 9: Laser Processing Machine Tools,” in which Beijing Ande Jianqi Co., Ltd. participated, was successfully held at Beijing University of Technology. The event was co‑hosted by the National Technical Committee for Special‑Purpose Machine Tools and Beijing University of Technology, with the aim of discussing and revising the draft of this national standard. More than 30 expert representatives from 27 organizations—including the National Technical Committee for Special‑Purpose Machine Tools, the National Technical Committee for Optical Radiation Safety and Laser Equipment Standardization, the Special‑Purpose Machining Branch of the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering, the Laser Processing Specialist Committee of the Chinese Optical Society, Beijing University of Technology, Tsinghua University, and Beijing Ande Jianqi Co., Ltd.—attended the meeting, which was chaired by Wang Ying, Secretary-General of the National Technical Committee for Special‑Purpose Machine Tools.
Professor Xiao Rongshi of Beijing University of Technology, the lead organization for the national standard revision project, highlighted the key changes in the draft revision of the national standard “Special‑Purpose Machine Tools—Terminology—Part 9: Laser Processing Machine Tools” compared with the 2018 edition: (1) New terms have been added to cover laser processing methods, machine tools, and major components that were not included in the previous version or have recently emerged and become widely adopted; (2) The nomenclature for laser cutting machine tools has been revised, no longer based on the type of laser source; and (3) The names of laser drilling and laser additive manufacturing processes and related machine tools have been amended. In addition, the draft revision’s provisions were addressed one by one in response to recent comments submitted by various participating organizations. Attendees carefully reviewed the draft and engaged in detailed discussions on the titles and definitions of each item. Notably, representatives from Beijing Ande Jianqi Co., Ltd. raised the question of whether newly emerging laser machining centers—such as laser turning machines, laser milling machines, and laser grinding machines—should be incorporated into the revised Part 4 on machine tool nomenclature, making this issue a central topic of deliberation at the meeting. The meeting concluded the discussion and revision of the draft national standard “Special‑Purpose Machine Tools—Terminology—Part 9: Laser Processing Machine Tools,” and laid out specific plans for the subsequent steps required to finalize the review draft by the end of March 2026.
During the conference, delegates visited the laboratories of the Institute of Laser Engineering at Beijing University of Technology. The institute, which is supported by the National Industry–University–Research Laser Technology Center, the Sino‑German Laser Technology Center, and the Beijing Municipal Laser Technology Laboratory, serves as a leading national hub for research and development in advanced laser science and technology, as well as a key center for talent cultivation. It employs cutting‑edge manufacturing technologies—such as laser welding and ultrafast laser micro‑ and nano‑fabrication—for the precision machining of highly complex components in fields including national defense, automotive, and new energy, thereby making outstanding contributions to the successful implementation of major national projects.

In 2026, Beijing Ande Jianqi Company will focus on participating in the drafting and formulation of two new national standards—“Precision Inspection for Laser Tool‑Machining Machine Tools” and “Precision Inspection for Five‑Axis Interlinked Laser Processing Machine Tools”—as well as in the revision of one national standard, “Terms for Special‑Purpose Machine Tools—Part 9: Laser Processing Machine Tools,” and three industry standards: “CNC Electrical Discharge Grinding Machines for Superhard Cutting Tools—Part 1: Precision Inspection,” “CNC Electrical Discharge Grinding Machines for Superhard Cutting Tools—Part 2: Technical Specifications,” and “Special‑Purpose Machine Tools—Part 2: Methods for Model Designation.” In addition, the company will contribute to the development of a group standard, “Terms for Laser Processing Technology,” led by the Special‑Purpose Machining Branch of the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering. With the goal of “using standards to drive high‑quality development of the special‑purpose machine tool industry,” Beijing Ande Jianqi will continue to strive to make its own contributions.
